…after playing what may have been one of the greatest shows in my entire life in London with Boris, earth and a performance of Altar……the come down was immense! Two days later sunn was in Paris and our buzz thankfully did not diminish! Steve and I played for the first time with a new lineup and sans vocalist! Mind you we had played with all these people in some for or another in the past, but not all together in this unified lineup:
Bill Herzog-Electric Upright Bass, Elec. Tamboura//T.O.S.-MOOG// Stebmo)))-Trombone, and SOMA (GIT) +the LORD (BASS)

A recording of this was made and although it nowhere comes near what was felt that night, its a decent snapshot of sunn 0))) at a very interesting time in space.

Winter greetings to you all! Wanted to just drop a quick line on some goings on within the caves of Southern Lord.

1. We have decided to take the Southern Lord forum offline. In a nutshell we were feeling the negativity of the content is counter productive and distracting to our movements. Our webmaster has started a new Forum that although is not affiliated with Southern Lord will hopefully be a place for those who met through the SL Forum to reconnect and continue discussions etc..

2. Boris, sunn and Earth have all returned from the UK (and Europe) after triumphant performances at All Tomorrows Parties and a special gig in London with all 3 groups+ a special performance of material from the Altar album! The London show in particular was among the largest congregation of supporters to witness our actions! Special thanks to all our faithful supporters that came out in mass for the ceremony! In the near future we will be offering some of the special merch that was available at this show via the Southern Lord store (including the TRIPLE PICTURE Lp version of Altar!). Stay tuned for more info.

3. Out in December: Altar Triple vinyl lp repress with new colors! We will have clear, grey and purple vinyl versions available very soon!

4. Out in January: After a manufacturing disaster that held up the release of this classic album it is with extreme relief that we are able to announce that :
“Crippled Lucifer: 10 Psalms For Our Lord of Light” will finally be ready for the hordes in early January. The mailorder version will be exclusively limited to 2,000 copies and besides the double cd of the regular version it will contain a “drop card” that will allow the owner to exclusively download the audio of a full live show from 1996 and a previously unheard demo from the same era. The packaging on this bitch is absolutely amazing and will serve as the appropriate sheath to shelter this archive. Trust us…it will be worth the wait and more!
