As you will know, US doom-drone behemoth SUNN 0))) will be performing a HUGE must-see show together with Japanese monsters BORIS at the Hi-fi Bar on Wednesday 9th May. However we are pleased to announce a Melbourne-only intimate ‘improv’ show that will include collaborations with members of black metal legends Mayhem and Striborg! This show will be completely different to the Hi-fi show and strictly limited to capacity at Melbourne’s newest venue The Toff in Town on Tuesday 8th May

This ritual will feature the first public appearance of Tasmania’s Sin Nanna aka STRIBORG, making a special & rare live collaboration with Attila Csihar, (legendary vocalist of Mayhem), Aussie avant-maverick Oren Ambarchi, and Greg Anderson & Stephen O’Malley of Sunn 0))). Blackened low-end psychedelics not for the faint hearted - a one-time event not to be missed!!!

After a long and arguably grueling courtship, Southern Lord is finally harmoniously involved with North Carolinas’ filthiest, and finest heathens: WEEDEATER! Some of you may remember their appalling and compelling apperance at the Southern Lord South by Southwest showcase in 2003, and track on the very first Southern Lord label compilation: “Let There Be Doom”. Well now this summer…we are stoked to be bringing you their Lord debut album “God Luck and Good Speed”.
The album was recorded in Jan. and Feb. of this year in Chicago at Electrical Audio with Steve Albini at the controls. The result is massive, mammoth and crushing! To compliment the audio, artist Arik Roper (Sleep, High on Fire etc..) will be handling graphic art duties. Please have a shot of whiskey in honor of this glorious moment.

In the late eighties …Before the mighty formation of Sleep:
Al Cisneros (Bass/Vocals), Chris Hakius, and Matt Pike (Guitar) played together (along with Thomas Choi/Guitar) in Asbestosdeath. Ad are the roots of the oak that branched into the massive creation of not only Sleep but of course OM (Al and Chris), High On Fire (Matt) and ItisI/Operator Generator (Thomas Choi). Asbestosdeath was short-lived and only existed long enough to record 4 songs that were released on 2 separate 7’s. One: “Unclean” was released by the band, the other: “Dejection” was released by Profane Existence. These recordings are long out of print…buried by time and dust. On the specific request of the band Southern Lord has been chosen to unearth these recordings and make them available once again!
It is our honor to unveil this compact disc properly documenting these sacred hymns! Be prepared for divine punishment! each!
