The Secret ….revealed. Southern Lord announce new signing!
Southern Lord is proud to announce the newest members of its coven, brutal Italian group: The Secret. These days Its extremely rare that we receive a demo submission that blows us away. This was the case with the demo that the Secret had sent us. Their sound is relentless, uncompromising and extremely lethal. Anti-melody, pro-cacophony!
Born and shaped in 2003 within the motionless city of Trieste, Italy, The Secret come to life as an output for rage, darkness and negativity. The Secret combines elements of crust/grind, primitive black metal, dark soundscapes and monolithic riffs to take the listener by the hand through an hallucinated trip towards a foggy and yet invisible tomorrow. After their 2003 Goodfellow Records debut album “Luce”, the band goes through countless line up changes and finds its own new incarnation in 2008 when their second full length “Disintoxication” was released. Since then The Goodfellow label has unfortunately ceased to exist. The Secret have now found shelter within Southern Lords’ bleak caves. This April The Secret will enter Godcity Studio in Salem, MA with producer Kurt Ballou to record their Southern Lord debut “Solve et Coagula”, their sonic interpretation of a total loss of faith in social system, religion, personal redemption and every institution.
You are forewarned of a approaching monolithic steamroller whose destiny is to flatten all in its path!

“…innumerable power chord counterpoints, weaving harmonies, and creepy melodies spread across these and other songs… give Black Cobra their due, because Chronomega is one of those albums that simply won’t be denied.” 4.5/5 - All Music Guide
“These songs rumble forth in a now-perfected punkish stoner stampede, but Rafael Martinez and Jason Landrian tear it up once again on this 38-minute exercise in rockin’ cranial punishment, and they make sure every minute is productive towards raising the body count.” - MetalReview.com
“…far more dynamic, demonic and imposing than High On Fire could ever dream of yet still forthright enough to suck the listener in. Bleak yet bombastic, agonized yet frenetic, Chronomega obliterates.” - Exclaim!

BLACK BREATH Attack: Brutal New Album Details + Tour With Converge
Seattle’s BLACK BREATH have stormed the scene with their uncompromising energy and infectious brutality. The band has played heavily alongside Nachtmystium, The Accüsed, Victims, Trap Them and tons more across the US through 2009, and in November Southern Lord released the first recordings from the young act in the form of the potent Razor to Oblivion EP, creating a deafening buzz immediately.
The next logical step of course; a full-length BLACK BREATH release. They traveled to the opposite coast, shacking up at Kurt Ballou’s God City Studios (Converge, Trap Them, Disfear) to create the 10-track jaw-dropper dubbed Heavy Breathing, due out March 30th on Southern Lord. The massive album picks up where Razor… EP left off, infusing the band’s rabid punk, metal and hardcore influences to create truly memorable hooks and buildups, yet incorporating more death metal influences this time around. The more brutal, metallic direction of Heavy Breathing is like a fired-up blend of Poison Idea on a whiskey-soaked Dismember bender…
A top label priority for 2010, BLACK BREATH will assault the masses on a major scale this year, touring constantly. The next major offensive has been planned, as the band will hit the road in May alongside Converge, with contributions from Gaza, Coalesce, Lewd Acts, Harvey Milk and more.
